It's the throw away society we live in, and if you don't throw stuff away you end up becoming a hoarder! I moved some garage bits to my mums the other day

I kept a lot of things including x3 spare moped engines and x3 SJ steering boxes! ( I thought I had x1)
Then what I decided not to keep I left out for the scrap man

I didn't want to throw the mudguard, handle bars, wheel hub, exhaust or petrol tank but they were all from bikes I have never owned or intended to own! When I came back from going out my box had been ransacked and those parts had been taken, I'm glad someone who wanted them got them as they were too good to throw away but worth nothing to someone who doesn't need them

I know saw your pictures on book face, it drives me crazy! i must admit im a bit of a hoader if its free and i think i reckon i could get it to work/repair it then i ask the owner first etc and take it! Another thing aswell my mother's tumble dryer stopped working and she was going to chuck it away i stripped it down found out the belt snaped £6quid later its working again!

It gets to a point where you only have so much space to store crap.
Eventually have to get rid of some of it.

I agree tom. being from a dutch heritage makes us quite nice hoarders
but seriously, part of the problem is the way that the tradesman's wages are going. for a lot of people it is cheaper to buy a new item, rather than calling a tradesperson and risking a huge bill, so it's really a sad downward spiral. However, if you have some skills like most of us on here do, it is far more responsible to fix stuff, and can often be quite cheap too

I think it comes down to the saying. ''one mans trash is another mans tresure''
Some people just get to a point of like ahhh F it ill get a new one get rid of before I change my mind.
Heres something I found someone chucking out last year
A 1997 Gt dyno Zone Bmx, when I was 6 years old this is the one bmx I wanted. Shame it wasn't in the best or original condition, But a good bit of diy polishing and a few weeks of hunting on ebay for the original dyno parts and a cheap set of rep sky way wheels got her looking like this
An excellent addition to my roof on my bora at vw shows and pretty cool to ride around on! Just want a set of blue skyways now!

one of my friends first BMX's was a red dyno zone, I had a mongoose villain back then
And well 15 years later I'm still riding a BMX
Looks exactly how I remember them

This is exactly why my missus won't let me go to the recycling center on my own. Too many unwanted treasures that end up coming home with me!
