I need to find a carb rebuild kit for my SJ410 to halo make her run cleaner and can anyone recommend a good fuel treatment? I've used redex but didn't do anything to improve the zuk..

Ive not seen a 410 carb rebuild kit around before but that doesn't mean you can't get them...
Considered converting to SU HIF-38?
I know the 410 carbs are usually pretty good and reliable anyway, but parts and rebuild kits for SUs are very easy to come by..

I've looked at doing a hif 38 but only found one on eBay and didn't win it :( could do with a SU carb and all the bits to convert it, ie throttle cable and choke cable unless the sj ones will fit to the SU.. If I can't find a rebuild kit then I'll have to convert to SU..

I believe there is someone in australia that does them, including the accelerator diaphram, which is usually the hardest bit to find. I can get some info if you want?

I've seen the kit on eBay from Australia but it's £40 plus £15 postage so very pricey, could get an SU for that..

If I can find someone selling them in the uk then that would be brilliant but so far no luck :(

Are you sure there's even a problem with your carb?

Fuel addatives won't make a difference to the 40hp you might have  they are a waste of money.

Haha I only want to get it to run cleaner so it's actually a pass for the emissions, I'm going to de-coke the head anyway but I just think a rebuild kit will help..

Best option is a su mate
I.havnt cleaned my carb yet mate as it was stood still for a while before I bought it and it runs alright about 22 mpg

But I am.planning on.putting a su on mine soon as I have a adapter lined up already

There really is no need to swap to an SU on a 410, the 410 carbs rarely give problems and if set up correctly and the rest of the ignition system and engine are good they should easily meet the 3.5% emissions limit.

You do not need an adapter to fit a HIF38 on a 410, just port match the inlet manifold.

Ye my carb is running sweet but when.it does stop on me I will go for su instead of a newer 410 carb

If I fit a metro su carb aparently it needs a adapter as my mates friend has a 410 with a su fitted to hos 410 and he had to fit a adapter so he got 2 made so I'm trying to het hold of the other adapter
