Pretty sure it will be a silencer, the only UK SJs fitted with cats as standard are the 1994/1995 fuel injected 1300cc ones

Ok Chears scottie
It's not a cheery bomb as I have spare exshaust system in my shed and it has it on.there aswell so it must be a silencer so that's alright then so I want to put a cherry bomb on my sj but there isn't enough room to fit one as the fuel taknk is close and so is the tow bar bracing

I've been waiting for this.... INCORRECT!!!

Cats were first produced in the 70s.
Quite a few older cars from 88-93 have 2 way catalytic converters fitted as standard along with carburettors... They are now considered out of date and 3 way cats are used with fuel injection!

A few examples...
Rover 200s, Volvo 440s and 460s, newer (rover) Minis and Metros, Nissan Sunnys, some VW Golfs and Jettas

:)

Well technically the GSXRs run on carbs and have cats built in to the exhaust, but they're not cars ;)
