Bonnet Vent

Morning folks,
I would like to fit a bonnet vent to my 85' JX, this would not just be for show, and is to aid my weber.
Ive never done this before so any ideas on type, or actual instruction would be welcomed.

see if you can get a vitara 4U2 bonnet scoop cut a hole in your bonnet seal it down paint to match. or you can get a chavvy one from a motor factors or make your own from chicken wire and paper mashe, just make sure you seal it properly!

would you recommend industrial silicone for the sealing? Im checking out ebay for a vitara scoop!

silicone retards paint, i wouldnt use it.
sika-flex is good. or any other rubberised seam sealer.
about £4 for a tube, and youl need a mastic gun to apply.

It doesnt need to be watertight. even if you did go through the effort of sealing it there is a wooping great hole on the front!

I had a scout around on the net for the 4u2 bonnet vent but cant see any around, has anyone used anything generic that is similar and looks proffessional on an SJ???

could just work out where you need the extra space and hit it with a big hammer!!
