Oops, gear stick misshap

Post by ianedwards » Sun Nov 03, 2013 8:01 pm

:er:

Bit stumped about this. I took the gearstick out for a bit more space, popped it back in and now it won't select. Seems jammed and will only push over to the right, rocked the truck and it is in a gear. All I can think of is I some how put it in gear when I took it out but I'm sure it was in neutral.

Didn't get much time to look at it, plus I couldn't find a torch.

Any on got any ideas before I tackle it again.

Cheers.

Pull the lever out and look at the selectors, should all be lined up if it's in neutral. probably got knocked in gear, just line the selectors up with a screwdriver and pop the lever back in, or you can try and put the lever back in with it in the position of whatever gear it's in? I usually just do it with a screwdriver though.

I got done over by this too.

Line all three grooves up in the center position and pop the lever back in.

We've all been there :)

The annoying bit is being stuck in reverse as you have to lever up the flap and then move the selector underneath it
