Samurai diffs into 413 axles? 413 axle on sj410?

I'm just doing a little more research into fitting a 1.6 to my 410, not 100% sure if I should yet but well see..

Basically do samurai diffs go straight into 413 standard width axles? And to 413 axles bolt straight in place of 410 axles? (Think someone told me they do on here)

And would this setup be a good setup on my 410 for a 1.6? Anything else I can do to the ratios to make her cruise at motorway speeds (60mph) a bit easier, I plan to fit 29" tires..

Just fit 413 axles. On 29" tyres the difference in the diff ratio will hardly be noticed.

Sure 410 / 413 spring spacings are the same but 413 axles are thicker and require bigger u bolts.

Samurai diffs will bolt straight into 413 axle cases if you wanted.

A 1.6 onto a 1.3 gearbox, 410 t/box and 413 axles should cruise pretty well.

At a comparisson mine is on samurai axles with a rock lobster and cruises at 65 ok.

Cheers jordi! I had a feeling id need to get new u bolts, so 413 diffs the same ratio as samurai diffs?

Near as makes no difference the same. Just make sure both front and rear are the same as you will get bad transmission wind up if you fit one of each.

413 diffs are 3.9. Sami diffs are 3.7.

Ahh right, and does anyone know is the 410 prop shafts will bolt to the 413 diffs?

Samurai gearboxes are different ratios to normal 413 gearboxes aswel aren't they? So would a Sammy gearbox be better?

Samurai box has lower 5th gear if im correct

Probably a lot easier getting a samurai box

Again, difference in gearbox ratio won't make a lot of difference.

As for the props, depends what size flanges your new axles have. I think it's just Samurais that have the big and little flanges. Think 410/413 are the same. Sure someone more educated will confirm this.
