kneeeeeeeee

Post by ScottieJ » Tue Nov 12, 2013 10:03 am

Steve asked what's up with my knee in another thread so thought I'd give you guys a little run down.

As some of you know Im really into riding BMX and have been doing stupid tricks and throwing myself over big jumps for the last 15years. Well this all started 5 years ago when I crashed my BMX at Newport skatepark  back then I partially tore my ACL but they didn't pick it up until an MRI scan last year after I sprained my ACL again. Guess how? At that point I had a total :tosser: of an orthopaedic seeing me and he told me that he wouldn't operate unless I stopped riding, I said that wasn't going to happen and he was just generally a complete prick every time I saw him. So after a few months recovering I got back on my BMX and did it again  it didn't seem too bad though and I was riding again after a month off.

Then I was stood at work, turned around and my knee popped out so went into hospital. Since then I've requested to see a different orthopaedic and he's sound! Even said I should be able to push my riding again after I've recovered. I've been at physio every week and they MRI scanned it again. Got my results last week, just after it decided to pop out again while stood in a shop

I have now fully torn my ACL and ruptured my meniscus and I'm waiting for my operation date. Then it's 6 weeks off work, around 8-10 before I'm back riding around and could be up to 20-25weeks before I can properly ride again :bawling: that also means a lot of time that I won't be in the workshop doing the LWB so I'm gonna crack on as much as I can until my op.

At least your injury has a decent explanation to go along with it!
Mine's just case of:

Q. How did it happen?
A. Don't know, maybe using my kneecap as a gearbox jack

Cheers dude :doublethumbs: don't worry the LWB will be on the road by next summer! (Hopefully)As soon as I'm physically able enough to get in the workshop after my op I'll be in there, should have somewhere between 6-12 weeks left until my op anyway so plenty of time to get more welding done.....there's a lot of it
