Recently When Slowly Pressing Down On The Clutch Pedal It Goes Down About 2/3 Of The Way Down, The Goes Slightly Stiff And The Goes Clonk And Goes All The Way Down! But When You Press The Pedal Down As If You Were Changing Gear Or Press It Down Quickly If Goes Down Normally Without Any Problems :er:

Sounds like the clutch release bearing is sticking on the shaft it slides on, gearbox out, clean and grease.

Either that or the cable is sticking.

I had this exact problem on the way back from Andy's the other day, feels like there is a "notch" in the pedal travel.

It was the clutch cable... the inner cable pulls against the outer so if the outer is breaking it will get notchy! Although my thrust bearing was on its way out anyway!

Try the cable first as the bearings usually make screeching/whistling noises before they go :)

Cable is the first place to look but I'm on about the release bearing sticking on the section of the gearbox input shaft that it slides on. Quite often they get dry and covered in crap so the bearing won't slide properly, nothing to do with the actual bearing part of the release bearing failing ;) just a case of pulling the gearbox, removing the release bearing, cleaning up everything, lubricating and refitting.

If it's magically mended I'm going with Scotties suggestion. Release bearing "jamming"
