Could be the mass air flow meter on the way out

Oh, you've had it diagnostics checked? Right, in that case it's almost certainly a fuel system issue. Either not enough fuel pressure (pump or partial blockages) or the injector is partially blocked/knackered.

I doubt it's the lambda/o2 sensor because it would run like arse and the exhaust would probably stink of petrol, plus I'd expect it to throw up diagnostic errors the same as the MAFM.

I doubt if its the Mass Air Flow sensor because it doesn't have one. It could be an O2 sensor, if it hasn't had one for some time then its worth changing, so is the fuel filter. Check for cracks in the exhaust manifold as that will throw the fuelling out, check all the fuel lines too. I assume by 'cat light' you mean the Check Engine Light, if its on then there should be fault codes which you can read by inserting a fuse in the diagnostic slot in the fuse box.

Oh. It won't be that then....
Not familiar with the G13 spi, just the general theory behind fuel injection
