Lights on dashboard, alternator, jackpot!

Hello group, a couple of weeks ago my Suzuki Jimny 1.2L petrol, on a 05 plate had a problem, when I started the car battery light on the dashboard illuminated, along with a couple of others. I stopped the car and tinkers with the alternator, started it and all was well. The same happened again yesterday, I had to drive home with virtually no electrical feeding the lights etc. Placed the battery on charge this morning, the car started and the fault is rectified. Can anyone advise on what it could be, I replaced the serpentine belts about a month ago, and they are tensioned fine.

Sounds like the alternator is on its way out! Could be a replaceable part of the alternator though!
Are cables for the alternator on tight?

Thanks for the info, that was brill!
Checked the connections, all is well, car was OK today. Is there any other checks I can carry out.

Just a quick update, I replaced the battery at the beginning of February, all has been well since, thanks again to all who helped.
