the hose that connect at the servo when unplugged is sucking?
also for the first few times i pressed the brakes again after reconnecting that hose on the servo they felt right, as i pulled off to take it for a spin to check they went hard again the nexttime i pressed and continue to stay hard.

Strange. Its should be sucking. I don't know anything about how servos work but it sounds like something inside is pulling over that hose connection and staying there. Once you take the hose off it let's it move away again until the first operation of the pedal again.
No help I'm sure but that's my full knowledge exhausted.

just and update, turned out to be a broken plastic joint for the vacuum pipes. bypassed it for now but it does have a plug going into the bottom of it, what is it?
(at least i know have a spare vacuum pump - 205 diesel local scrappy £20!
)
can anyone tell me about the servo on the td? is it the same as anything else? id like to get one for the spares box!

I would assume that's the solenoid valve controling the egr valve.
