New carb?

I have a 85 sj413/samurai I recently purchased over a month ago. I have been fighting this issue with my carburator ever sense I got it but usually only when the engine was cold, soon as it warmed up a bit it ran fine.
So here's the problem, at operating tempurature and when it's cold it seems as though the accelerator pump isn't working. At an idle it is fine, but as soon as you hit the gas (at idle still) it seems to hesitate and not doing anything and feels like it is about to die but then it just "kicks in" and revs go up (still all at idle). Now when I put it in gear, soon as I hit the gas and try to move it just completely dies and revs drop (like engine is cutting out). To go forward or reverse, I either have to drop the clutch above 2300rpm (ish) and it will finally start to somewhat move but it still hiccups and stumbles until I'm passed 3000rpm then I seems to be fine but once I shift into second, it tries to die again until revs above 3000rpm.
Now when I look down the top of the carb and I manually move the accelerator pump, I do see a healthy stream of gas get squirted into the carb (it's a pin sized stream, I'll post a picture). Now the carburator that I am running is definitely not the stock carb.. The name of it is "Changwon" made in Korea, I can't find a rebuild kit or any information about it and even a part number isn't on it either.
I just recently purchased from an auto wrecker, an 86 samurai carburator (says Aisan on it and only other writing I can find says "2B") but it looks completely different, it fits in the same spot perfectly but the bolt style is different (changwon carb bolts up from the manifold and 86 carb bolts go down into the manifold) and all the hoses for vacuum, fuel, etc, are different.
This is my first carburated vehicle and don't really no correct terms for it all. Any help is greatly appreciated!
