newby// 1.6 8v head question
i have recently bought a l reg vitara fatboy but after a couple of weeks of fun the engine seemed to die and sieze (engine wasnt the best to start with but it was cheap fun) so i am currently looking for a replacement engine and i know on my engine my fuel pump currently runs off the cam and has the big air filter across the top with it being and old anus
my question is will an 1.6 8v efi head be the same ie can i just put my lift pump from my engine on the efi head to keep mine the same (basically are the heads the same just manifolds that are different on efi models)
only reason i ask for is im finding it hard trying to find an engine for a reasonable price and dont fancy paying 300-500 pound for one but there is a one local but it was efi.
also if anyone knew what my engine code would be??
thanks for looking...

Re: newby// 1.6 8v head question
The engine is a G16A but you need an 8V engine, some 16Vs also had the G16A block. The EFi head has no provision for the fuel pump so you would need an electric pump.

best way to wire them up is via a relay to your ignition, so it switches on when you turn the key

I would use everything on yours except the engine... but either way the bits *should* be compatible

champion just i think the newer airbox loooks better
Re: newby// 1.6 8v head question
You need to use your old manifold because your carb won't fit on the EFI manifold,

thanks everyone just ordered my engine there in the meantime i have been looking at fuel pump is this the kind of one that i will need

and is it just a case of putting it on the feed pipe and letting the carby do the work and letting the fuel return through the return pipe and just a case of an earth and ignition live
