Since matey boy helicoiled the transfer box mounts it's not been right suggesting that the box is now sitting where it shouldn't be. Before I go anywhere I need to study various angles of dangles to get it all to line up right!

Sit rep. Rear diff is fine it's the rear prop that is mullered. New wheel bearing in and new front pads too but 4WD using the front wheels only is truly awful and now I know why. The tbox is now a few mm too high and the props are rubbing like crazy so I lowered it and it has helped but I'll be bugg...

I wouldn't use a canvas roof as you need half a ton of Scotchguard on it. PVC is better...there are makers of roofs for an SJ out there. Have you Googled it?
