Re: LJ80 motor compatible with SJ410 four-speed gearbox?

The SJ410 bolts straight up with almost no mods. There are actually two types of gearbox, an early model (up to about 1985ish), which is much smaller and similar to an LJ box, and the later much larger gearbox. The later one has a shorter input shaft and has the spigot bearing in the flywheel, while...

Re: LJ 80 Front springs

SJ springs are a straight swap, but will raise the ride height so check your shock absorbers are long enough at the front (can't remember if they are still OK, its so long since I did One). Rear shocks will still be OK. I used to use rear shocks at the front with my Rancho springs, as the original o...

LJ's in Movies

Well I went to see the recently restored Fritz Lang classic, Metropolis, yesterday at the cinema. But thats not the reason I'm posting here to discuss that particular movie as its obviously not LJ related!! The adverts were on for new movies and I glanced up while they were advertising "Tracks&...

Re: LJ80 Gearbox problems

The very early SJ410 gearbox up to about 1983 is very similar to the LJ80, but is not interchangeable, however it does share some common components and the gears are interchangeble but have different ratios, the ST90 gearbox is also very similar to the LJ80 and also shares a lot of common components...

Re: Hi All, Front Clip removal?

Thanks for that. Its nice to have some acknowledgement, unlike a face book site (Jimney LJ80) that has copied it and put their watermark across the pages as if they have done it, with no reference to this website or the person who created it in the first place. I don't mind anyone posting it on thei...
