Re: Wheels and Tyre sizes help please

I already said all of that Scottie 😂😂😂

But yeah, what Scottie said. I robbed most of the ideas for my SJ from him to start with.

Re: Wheels and Tyre sizes help please

99% certain.

This is a fixed drive flange without the little domed dust cap over the end of the half shaft.

If you take that plastic cover off thats what you will probably find under it.

Re: Wheels and Tyre sizes help please

Thats just a plastic cover over a fixed drive flange. Undo the bolt and there will be a drive flange with 8 bolts iirc, a small domed cap over the end of the half shaft. I ran 31s on standard driveline. Never gave me any massive issues. Drove all the way from Darlington to Billing Aquadrome and back...

Re: Wheels and Tyre sizes help please

I used to tow one of my SJs on an a-frame. It had standard fixed front hubs. No free wheel hubs. I just put everything in neutral and it seemed fine. Nothing ever broke. Strictly speaking this should not be done though. It can cause transmission wind up. The safest way is to fit FWH to the front and...

Re: Wheels and Tyre sizes help please

If its an SJ they aren’t auto hubs. Thought Scottie would have twigged that 🤪 They are permanently locked flanges. It’s a 1/2 hour job to swap to manual locking hubs. (2 hubs required). Aisin hubs were the factory option that a lot of people retro fit. Usually plenty on ebay. If purchasing second ha...

Re: Wheels and Tyre sizes help please

235/75s on a 15x7 can be fit with minimal modifications. There is a seam / lip runs down the bulk head that needs adjusting (bending flat with a hammer). If its a standard bumper fitted then it may need trimming slightly. A standard 1.3 motor with original SJ / Samurai gearing is fine for 235s. If y...

Re: Fuel economy

That all depends on how many miles you’ve done and what kind of driving.

Don’t know what spec the fiesta was or the full spec of your vitara but it’s highly unlikely its going to be as economical as the fiesta was.

Re: SJ410 Brake Drums

They usually just slide right off.

When its on the vehicle, hand brake off, wheel off. 4 retaining nuts off and they slide off.

I presume the drum is spinning freely?

Yeah you need to heat up the long shaft where the small one goes into the bigger. Theres a nylon pin you need to melt so i did mine with a blowtorch. Then chap it down to length and then stick a tac on it. You sir are a life saver, ThankYou  I suspected the two pieces could move as there i...
