Sounds like the same kinda thing i have on my Kia, can’t say i noticed a difference.

The kia still looks a lot cleaner and shiner after a proper polish.

Sounds like a nightmare of a time. Might have already been asked. Is the t/box in a cradle or standard mounts? Are the bolt through mounts going fully tight or running out of thread on the bolts? As said. Spend a bit of cash on a reasonable welder, few you tube vids, practice on some scrap and crack on yourself.

I’m not amazing at it myself but it’s not too hard to get it to a reasonable standard.
