Re: Fuel Ecomomy Not

Ok today was better on a run I have got 25 mpg. I think the main issue is when I do short runs to work as choke is on virtually all the way.

Re: Fuel Ecomomy Not

Cheers for reply's I now have a custom Aluminium fuel tank in boot with a sight gauge and no proper fuel gauge. All Fuel pipes have been replaced with heavy duty rubber hoses front to back. So on the assumption of 10% higher that means it has done 22 miles on 8l of petrol. What are the 1.6 engines l...

Re: Fuel Ecomomy Not

Cheers for reply I'm running 205x16 on Landrover rims and to be honest I have done 21 miles which is about right if anything slightly higher I would say lol and I put 8.5l in it. I might be doing her a slight in justice as I may have filled it a bit more than last time give or take half a litre.

Re: Su carb bad starting

It's a manual fuel pump, the last two starts have been ok, and I have done colourtune now and she was running a bit rich. When it does fail it seems to be wetting No 1 plug so I shall change plugs and leads etc just in case. I stripped and cleaned and rebuilt carb so it should be OK. I need to monit...

Su carb bad starting

Ok all built back together 1300 engine SU carb with the spring and needle as per previous posts with a brill rockwatt manifold.
Now she starts 85% time spot on then if you go to start and miss she floods and will not start until you take plugs out clean and dry erc then no problem.
Any thoughts please

Su Carb breather

What is the opinion on the breather pipe on a Su carb on a SJ should it be blocked , left open ,connected to engine breather pipes etc. I have seen various pics with different setups. Thoughts please
