As far as i can see there is no thin plate on there anymore ! yes i think its known as the skinny starter ! and i think there is clearance between the starter body and the block !
This is a 1600 vitara engine and as far as i know its an SJ starter motor .. ? are these the same ? Thanks again !

ive tried spacing it out a little but seemed to make a funny noise once the solenoid had thrown in ?
Is this adaptor plate normal ? is this a set up that is used ?

Marks on the flywheel ,, ? as if the teeth are going to far and fouling the ring gear some how ? Im wondering if there is a spacer missing of some sort ? Any help would be great thanks ! :S :er:

Hi there ,, I'm new to all this so was hoping for some info on some bits to do with an SJ 413 that I've just bought if possible ?? It has a 1600 vitara engine fitted with like a gold coloured adaptor plate between the gear box and the engine , I bought it as a none runner as the stater motor was not...
