We did on our 1996 Vit. Used a BenT kit together with some Mitsubishi Magna calipers and the discs from the front (replaced those with vented discs). Bits4vits did them (I did have them on our Vitara until we swapped in the power steering), but I can't see them on his website anymore.

I guess that depends on what you consider expensive... usually the steel diff is the expensive part. I did see a price of $AU450 for this kit. Not sure what shipping from NZ to the UK would be, but all the parts I have bought from Bits4vits were not unreasonable in their shipping cost going the othe...
