Vitara MK1 Central Locking ECU Location
Hi, I am fitting central locking to a JX soft top model that had manual locking. I have most of what I need but have a question please. Could someone tell me where the central locking ECU is located? I assume that the JX model would not be supplied with one, even though the dash loom can accommodate...

Re: Help with soft top hood identification
Thanks for the manual. I found this too but it's for the one piece hood rather than two piece. Can't track down the two piece. At the moment it looks like this...

Re: Restoration - Suzuki bull bar. Painted or powder coat?
Thanks, yes mine needed to be drilled too. I found some research and it seems that paint adheres if painted within 24 hours of galvanising. Also one year after galvanising it should adhere fine. Needless to say I found this out 48 hrs after galvanising! Will look into the plastic coating.

Re: Help with soft top hood identification
Thanks, the quality looks good. However I'm increasingly thinking this might be for a Grand Vitara due to the front section overlapping the sports bar. I didn't think the Grand Vitara would have the Velcro window fitting or the hooks at the front (I thought the GV used press studs)?

Re: Restoration - Suzuki bull bar. Painted or powder coat?
Thanks very much for the replies. I had the bull bar galvanised and then found out there are paint adhesion issues on galvanised surfaces. I was advised by very helpful galvanisers that the custom paint for galvanised surfaces is more aesthetic than powder coating, a service they also provide. The G...

Restoration - Suzuki bull bar. Painted or powder coat?
Hi, I am restoring a bull bar that looks like the one in the photo below, and wondering when this was supplied new by Suzuki would it have been painted or powder coated? I want it restored as originally supplied. Thanks

Help with soft top hood identification
Hi I recently bought a two piece soft top from eBay made by besttop.com. I've done some research and can't identify the instructions for it though. It's definitely for a Mark 1 Vitara as it has the clips for the canopy at the front rather than the press studs. Clearly there's supposed to be a fittin...

Re: Showroom Vitara
Ok thanks very much everyone, and thanks for the welcomes. Much appreciated. It has made me think again but one way or another I'm going to need to sort that rusty bodyshell or acquire a rust free one. As its a soft top I'm after maybe I should focus on the bodyshell first and then see about the bod...

The soft top has covered 87k and in reasonable condition (or so I thought) though has i some welding done to the boot and rear wheel arches when I bought it last March. It...
