Re: Fuel economy

As Jordi posted - how many miles between refuels ?
I usually zero the trip meter every time I fill up so I can always do a rough mental calculation of actual mpg.
Short trips will not help mpg (depends how 'short'),Air Con use probably will not help but should not make mpg really bad.

Re: Vitara Gearbox / Transmission Oil

Any manufacturer/brand/type recommendations for GL -4 Oils Scottie/Anybody ?

Also is there a part number list/chart/ kit of sealing washers for the various Transmission/Diff drain plugs.

I am planning to do all the oils at some stage before winter - starting with Front Diff.

Thanks Baz

Re: Paint code numbers

I found this Aussie website which seems to be a good database of suzuki colour codes. It even has the UnderHood colour codes which I have been trying to ID. I guess being an Aussie site some of the colour combinations might be slightly different ? This link will go to 2004 colours but there are page...

Re: Vitara Engine Bay Paint Code ??

I had some free time today so looking in to this again. I found this Aussie website with lots of Paint Code Info... https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_swatch_suzuki_2004 The closest I can see is Suzuki Medium Grey (OFM) in the underhood colour section. It is not listed for my colour code (...

Front Drive Shaft oil weep

Just having a periodic check under the suzi today I noticed that the O/Side drive shaft has an oil weep just inboard of the gaiter,I am assuming there is an oil seal in there. The area just looks a bit 'wet' and no signs of a 'drip' so far. I am assuming it is front diff oil weeping out so I will pr...

Re: One step forward and one step back :)

It is an early 2005 3 door Grand Vitara Scottie so I assume your handle will fit ok. Is your door handle a genuine Suzuki one ? It is funny because I walked around the car the other day and did wonder why the tailgate handle looked much newer than the other plastic trims,of course the answer is that...
