Re: Lack of Power on Acceleration

http://www.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/phpBB3/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=5183 Thats the wiring diagram for it. When you start the car the ballast resistor is bypassed during cranking giving the coil the full12v once you stop cranking the coil is fed via the ballast resistor so the coil only sees 9v. If you...

Re: Lack of Power on Acceleration

How much 'play' is there on the Dizzy Shaft ? If the dizzy shaft is worn and can move sideyways it can play havoc with ign timing. Assuming that the wiring/earths etc are all ok. No play, poured petrol in carb but still wouldnt start, wondering if its a loose wire somewhere now, battery going flat ...

Re: Lack of Power on Acceleration

Is the ignition still on points and a condenser in the dizzy? If so fitting new ones and setting the gap is always a good place to start with running issues on the f10 engine. The points need adjusting fairly often. You can get a dizzy and coil of a 1.3 and convert it to electric ignition as well. ...

Re: Lack of Power on Acceleration

Do the simple checks first. Is there mayo in the oil cap? Might be head gasket. Pull plugs and check the colour. Should be a light brown. If one or more is black could suggest a ring has gone. If all is fine change the HT leads for new ones. If that fails maybe the coil. Does it have a fuel filter?...

Lack of Power on Acceleration

SJ 410 was running a bit rough and burning oil, but Just been MOTd a week ago, mechanic said he thinks it was running on only 3 cylinders, might also need new piston rings, told me to change plugs. changed them and made a big difference much more power starting first turn of the key in morning. This...
