what your going to try to do is,, keep the heat/weld on the box section and just flow it up the the body panal. you may have to do stich welding,, 1" miss a inch. make sure you grid down the old panals you are welding to,, you cant weld to rust/paint etc.. good luck

ohhh,, this topic opened a real can of worms on differs???. There is a large question mark over insurance, let alone the fact if there not done right, its downright dangrouse. If your using the truck for just off road, i cant see a proplem, (so long as there done right by a certified /compodant weld...

have a look in the DIY section for,,, rock sliders. gives you a good ideal what im onabout. once there welded in you have a good basis to start from..

i would start by replacing the outer sill with box section,then you have something to weld to. you can get sheets of steel to suit,, if need-be you can also run some bracing under the new floor.
