Re: Back to Suzuki - SZ5 Vitara

Welcome to the forum, sorry I can't help much unless it's got cart spring suspension but we do have a few GV owners on here that might be able to advise.

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp

I would get rid of the bolt through style mounts and fit some proper standard mounts, bolt through are horrible and the worst thing you can fit in my opinion. bolt through mounts do transfer a lot of noise and vibrations to the chassis.

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp

I'm confused though as stock mounts don't squash the rubbers when tightened? http://lghttp.54891.nexcesscdn.net/8033C36/Magento/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/900x675/213c2f08e8867d794ab84c36c21cfda1/2/4/24-11483-skuimage.jpg The only place suzukis have crush collars (same as landrovers) is bet...

Voice of reason or just that annoying bloke who always says stuff you don't want to read/hear  Tbh it sounds like the right choice to me, there's no way in the UK market anyone would want to pay close to what has been put into it, I've put over £10k into my blue SJ over the years and i'd be luc...

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp

So which mounts are currently fitted? im a bit confused as you said they were done up so tight the rubbers were flat and you can't do that with stock rubber mounts? Bolt through can trasnfer loads of noise and cause vbes and all sorts as the tbox can't move in ways that it should, personally I don't...

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp

Those bolt through mounts are a nightmare if that’s what you’ve got fitted, they can cause all sorts of noises and vibrations. Stock rubber mounts are best. But as above, check your diff pinions for play, if he was on about crush collars maybe the rear pinion bearings are on their way out. Gotta agr...

Re: Leigh Lifted Vitara on 35s

There have been a few cases where MOT testers have refused to test 'radically altered' vehicles like Zcar converted minis and 4x4s with major chassis mods. I've read many articles on specific cases over the last 10 years or so. Dave, the guy that started Bits4Vits also ran into issues and had to tak...
