Re: the no dosh LJ revamp

He saw the opportunity to have a power trip at your expense, he took it. There's something seriously wrong with his life, so he feels the need to bully others in order to make himself feel like the "big man". Which usually means he's got feelings of inadequacy stemming from his small... ...imaginati...

Re: Spotted!

Saw this yard full of SJ's today while trying to get a fuel pump for the daily driver. The guy has about 20 of 'em.

Re: New setup , leafs, axles , wheels

I've tried every kind of lift on an SJ. Body lift. Shackle lift. SPOA. Body lift with shackle lift was first. It was all kinds of terrible. ALL KINDS. Lift shackles are the worst idea in the universe. I'm built like the proverbial outhouse of bricks, and I could barely turn the steering wheel when o...

Re: Gearing

I ran 31's on sammy axles with a 413 t-case and a 1.3, and although the 5th gear was useless it ran quite nice. You'll have bigger tyres, but lower t-case ratios. I think you have slightly better overall ratios than I did. With a 1.6, it should be a completely different kettle of fish, as the 1.6 ha...

Re: The parking standards at Tesco...

I took this pic then got told by a spotty Tesco 'yoof' to stop. I freakin' HATE these jumped up little bullies who think they have some kind of authority over the rest of us, and abuse that "authority" by making illogical demands. It's about making them feel big usually, not about the actual rules....

Re: Which engine

The 8v and the 16v have similar torque, but the 16v has more HP. Basically they should behave similarly until you start approaching the redline, where the 16v will pull harder. The 8v might even pull harder at low RPM. If the swap is simple (i.e. you can just swap the block in an afternoon) then it'...

Re: Trying to find my old samurai lwb

Last MOT was January 2017, passed with one advisory (Offside Front Front wheel bearing has slight play (2.5.A.3c)). It's off the road at the moment, it seems - but it's probably still out there somewhere.
