Re: Petrol Additives

I wonder if Ethanol might also work to strip out gunk? That stuff can eat through fuel lines if you use it regularly, so maybe the occasional flush with it might clean stuff without the damaging effects of long term use?

Re: Insurance with a modified sj

The thing with insurance is that the prices they give you are based on what the underwriters believe your risk factors are. They're not interested in your *actual* circumstances - they just make assumptions about you based on age, driving history, what kind of car you drive etc. For example, when I ...

Re: Wont start no Fuel or spark - but perfect yesteerday

I believe that by 1999, Suzuki was using the G16B engine with fuel injection. That "carb" is probably actually a throttlebody. As such, if you lost fuel *and* spark at the same time, it's likely to be an ECU issue - but I don't know anything about ECU's. I don't even know if your ECU has an OBD2 por...

Re: dpf replaceent

I'm not suggesting you do this, but people have been known to gut their DPF and refit it as a straight through pipe.

DPF "filters" are not filters at all. They're temporary soot storage systems that capture soot at lower temps, then emit it when you're moving faster/exhaust temps are higher.

Re: 2008 GV SWB 15" wheels and will they fit?

Besides the 15" vs 16" rim thing, a 2005 or newer Vitara will be the newer bolt spacing (a PCD of 5x114). You don't say which older model, but most "older" vitaras and grand vitaras run a 5x139.7mm pcd. So if the "older" model you speak of is an original model Vitara or a Grand Vitara (anything pre-...

Apparently you can connect a phone to a amp, using one of these https://www.dx.com/p/3-5mm-to-2-x-rca-a ... 97KKhqnyhA
I haven’t got a amp anymore so can’t try it out
I use one of those cables to plug my phone into my AV reciever sometimes. Works fine.

Re: G13A Rebuild

I've never paid more than £100 for a G13 or a G16.

*edit* Talk to ScottieJ, Andeyrew or Mike Harris. Between those guys, they usually have any parts you could possibly need.

Re: G13A Rebuild

The 1.6 is a higher compression engine, meaning it's more efficient. Because of this, most people who've done the swap tell me they get the same or better fuel economy from a 1.6.

I can't say from personal experience though. Not yet, anyway... ;)
