The thread is the same as an AN fitting. I think its AN-6 but can't remember. Might be AN-8
Its actually JIC-6 or JIC-8 but they are compatible

What fuel pump is on it? Standard mechanical one or electric? Mine never floods, so Im assuming theres a reason why it's getting too much fuel. What condition is the carb in? 8v with carb is definitely the easiest, pretty much bolt in and go (with adapter plate and skinny starter motor) SU should work fine on it with some re-tuning, will probably need a new needle and springs. Cable connection? Sounds like a stupid one, but my battery cables and clamps looked fine... then sometimes when starting it would clunk and then voltage would drop to zero, dash lights and everything would go off, and stay off until you took the batt negative lead off and put it on again! Pretty sur...

I have llama 4x4 springs on the front of mine but I dont think he can actually get them any more

Did you actually check the other end is spinning? if its broken in the middle, the tbox end can spin fine but the other end will stay put
