Re: Our 2005 Vitara

Just MOT'd the old Vitara again - she only failed on a broken front spring - which I got the garage to replace as I am a bit crocked at the moment. Advisories for corroded cat and pipe (which I knew about - still the original Suzuki Exhaust) and also deteriorated front outer drive shaft boots,I will...

2005 GV 1600 front Driveshaft Boots

Failed MOT today on a front spring (which I will just let the garage replace for me). But I also noticed he has given me an advisory for both front outer Driveshaft Boots (Gaiters) being seriously deteriorated,I have not had a look at them yet - I will look at them tomorrow. I think the driveshafts/...

Central Locking problem cured thanks to this forum :)

Our 2005 G Vitara has had sporadic problems with remote locking for the last 12 months or so,sometimes it would work and sometimes not. It refused to unlock/lock at all yesterday and the remote batteries were ok voltage wise. So I had a quick look around on here at some older posts and realised that...

Re: Lack of Power on Acceleration

How much 'play' is there on the Dizzy Shaft ?
If the dizzy shaft is worn and can move sideyways it can play havoc with ign timing.
Assuming that the wiring/earths etc are all ok.

Re: Grand Vitara 1,6 2008 3 door engine hesitation

Hope you have sorted it Mick, sorry cannot be of any help as like most on here we have an older model of GV.
A mate of mine years ago had an elusive problem with an XJ6 and it turned out to be HT lead related - I cannot remember if it was the 'King' Lead or the plug leads.

Re: Cooling Problem Grand Vitara 2l petrol 52 plate

Hi Cammie I am not au fait with the J20A ? engine. I would have thought that coolant would piss out of any open pipes on the output side of the water pump. Has the engine always had anti freeze in the cooling system ? If not maybe the engine could do with a flush (maybe you have done it already ?) H...

you will need to fit a new matching key, immobiliser and ECU from vitara of the same era (and same ECU part number)
That might well be the cheapest way to fix it up,I was thinking about that earlier but was not 100 % sure exactly which parts were required LOL
