Re: Battery problem

0.1amps is still a bit high of a current draw than what I would like. I've always been told that around 0.03 is an acceptable level. I would recommend doing the drain check yourself as it's quite easy. Just hook up an ammeter in line with your battery while all the systems are turned off, and it sho...

Re: LJ80

Looking good. I am hoping to get to this stage soon. Was the body heavy to lift off? Did it take many people? I'm thinking of suspending it from the roof of the garage to give me room to work.

Re: AISAN Carburetor will not idle

I would try dismantling it and just giving it a thorough clean through. Stale petrol turns to varnish after it's been sitting for a long time and can clog up small idle jets. Brake cleaner/carb cleaner will work to dissolve and shift anything clogging up the small passage ways in the carburetor. And...

Re: LJ80 Recommissioning.

The two upstand brackets that hold the wings to the bulk head had been cut in half and half of each was missing for some reason. I assume they had rotten off at some point. So I made these based on one or two pictures I found. So I think they are close to being right. IMG_20200406_124426.jpg IMG_202...

Re: LJ80 Recommissioning.

The radius on the front corner of the O/S wing was to tight, so didn't marry up properly with the grill panel and didn't match anywhere else. It had some previous rough repairs. So I cut it back quite far to where the edge had a better radius and made a new panel. IMG_20200326_135541.jpg IMG_2020032...

Re: LJ80 Recommissioning.

My current time in lockdown has been a constant struggle between being as constructive as possible, and giving into total laziness. Its reminded me I really am quite lazy, but I've been trying to keep the balance. All of the work I have done has revolved around the front wings, and getting the front...

Re: Engine management light EGR? & MPG

I believe the EGR valve is an easy thing to remove and clean/flush through as appose to replacing it, as in there nature they are prone to getting quite easily clogged with carbon. Also worth cleaning out any hoses that go to and from the valve.

Re: LJ80 Recommissioning.

I haven't made any huge leaps in progress recently, but last weekend I went and collected some new wings which scott sold me. Its a big advantage and I'm very pleased as its going to save a lot of time when compared to the old ones which I had planned to repair and use. IMG_20200215_123237.jpg IMG_2...
