I suggest pulling it apart and see if you can fix it first. Don't put 10-12 psi on it, about half that.

Circuit is very simple. The dash light has 12v positive to it with ignition on. The switch just supplies the ground/earth, so at the switch with ignition on you should read 12v across the two wires. Ground the positive and see if the light comes on, we''ll go from there.

The bottom light is your handbrake light, there’s a switch on the handbrake itself, the wire might just be earthing somewhere. Check your brake fluid level there’s a diode somewhere in then wiring (i have been trying to work out where it actually is for years but it seems to be hiding in the loom s...

You typed in J e e p but without the gaps ;)

Think that's the 1.0L engine, the coil normally has a ballast resistor on the side to lower the voltage to the coil under normal running conditions which is bypassed on cranking to generate a bigger spark.
