A little summer fettling

Hey we actually had some warm dry weather in Perthshire over the last week so I decided to do a little peripheral tidying on our 2005 Vitara 8-) I started off by cleaning and colour restoring all the Plastic trims etc - I have some Simoniz 'Back to Black' in a plastic bottle which I have had in stoc...

Re: HELP!! No brake pedal after rear disc conv.

If nothing else works could it at least partly be that you have 4 new discs and pads and that they all need 'bedding in' (burnishing) ?,I have had cars where when you replace brake friction components the Brake Pedal feels very 'springy' and can be pushed quite easily further down than usual, after 5...

Re: RPM not working

Hi I can't remember - it was a long time ago - the sensor probably works off crankshaft or flywheel, some are on the engine and some are on the clutch housing,it will not be difficult to change as long as you can positively ID its location (although might be awkward access ?) - not easy to find out o...

Re: RPM not working

Hi Flori and :welcome: Not sure about the suzuki applications but on my old Pug 405 with an XUD engine - the RPM sensor was on the gearbox,I know because the main bearings were worn on mine and the 'floating' internals actually 'machined' the sensor away completely. The RPM gauge used to 'flick arou...

Re: Our 2005 Vitara

Just MOT'd the old Vitara again - she only failed on a broken front spring - which I got the garage to replace as I am a bit crocked at the moment. Advisories for corroded cat and pipe (which I knew about - still the original Suzuki Exhaust) and also deteriorated front outer drive shaft boots,I will...

2005 GV 1600 front Driveshaft Boots

Failed MOT today on a front spring (which I will just let the garage replace for me). But I also noticed he has given me an advisory for both front outer Driveshaft Boots (Gaiters) being seriously deteriorated,I have not had a look at them yet - I will look at them tomorrow. I think the driveshafts/...

Central Locking problem cured thanks to this forum :)

Our 2005 G Vitara has had sporadic problems with remote locking for the last 12 months or so,sometimes it would work and sometimes not. It refused to unlock/lock at all yesterday and the remote batteries were ok voltage wise. So I had a quick look around on here at some older posts and realised that...
