Re: Engine serial number

The new model swift has a 1.5, but that's the M15. I dunno if they ever fitted the G15 - I assumed they did, but I don't know... I'll look into it in earnest when the rest of the car's done. Edit: Nope, looks like we only got the G10, G13 and G16. The Ignis and Swift got the M15a from about 2000 onw...

Re: Engine serial number

That seems to make more sense, as the G13 and G16 heads can be swapped, so they must be *very* similar blocks. A third more weight doesn't make much sense! I'll work out what the best engine is once I've finished the body swap and suspension work. I'd rather not go into the higher tax bracket (over ...

Re: Engine serial number

So it's just shy of 30kg heavier? That's more than a third of the 1.3's original weight! Is the extra weight taken up in ancillaries like PAS pumps etc? If so, then it's a more attractive proposition since I want to go PAS anyway (I can turn the wheel with no problems, but other members of my family...

Re: Engine serial number

Scottie - I'd like it if that were true, because I would like a G16B in mine with bike carbs. Maybe dan_2k_uk can weigh his blocks and let us know? For me, weight is a serious concern. I'm going for a plastic kit car body because it's ultra-light, and I'm trying to add lightness... That and it looks...

Re: Engine serial number

Thanks guys! I had a feeling that's where it was, but I haven't been well this week and rather than go buy a decent torch, I got lazy and asked. Hopefully tomorrow I can clean off that area (I couldn't see anything there, but my block is covered in a goodly amount of Surrey right now) and finish off...

Engine serial number

Hey, people. Looking for the serial number on my SJ's replacement engine, and I can't seem to find any markings that look like a serial number. I need to declare the engine swap to the DVLA so I can get the V5 updated. All I can find is a "1298CM 3 " marking on the exhaust side of the engi...

How far did this project come along? I'd love to see a build diary.

Re: RockLobster conversion

Does anyone know if the gearset in a "skinny prop" 410 T-case will fit inside a 413 T-case? Also, is it possible to keep the 413 high ratio (not sure I want to with 31" mud boots, but it might make motorway journeys more pleasent)? Or if it's possible to get/fit an "overdrive&quo...

N00b alert!

Hey peoples. Joined a while back but never got around to posting anything. Parrot told me about these forums, thought I'd see for myself. A quick pic of my SJ413 rig: http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm247/AntonPix/Suzuki%20stuff/LiftedSJ.jpg Just finished SPOA'ing it, it's on 31x10.5x15 Goodrich ...
