Re: live axle conversion on vitara

I'd start with a set of stock rear springs, with those the spring rate will remain the same as the original springs, design the mounts to get the correct ride height. If you're going much higher than stock then a set of rear lift springs should be a bit firmer which will help to reduce weight transf...

Re: Lockrite

I have read on other sites that if you don't set up a lockright carefully, they tend to lock when you don't want them to, make lots of clanking, clacking and banging noises, and generally make you wish you'd done the job properly right from the start. They have to be correctly shimmed, it didn't us...

Re: Turbocharging the SJ413.

They stopped doing the turbo kit not long after the Vit was launched, the 1.6 conversion is a lot simpler and more reliable, it must be ten years since I saw a turbo'd SJ come up for sale. You could try asking on Zukiworld.com, there are a few turbo conversions on there.

Did you try flow testing it with the intake manifold bolted up, there was a guy in the US that used to rework the intake manifold and that was supposed to give good gains when used with a Weber. I have been collecting some cam specs here:

Re: F10D Viability

Yes, I don't know why I thought it was a G10BB, I think that must have been the Swift, I've got a couple of ECUs here and they both say F10D on them. I reckon that would be a good engine in a 410 and I've got a 410 based Blitz that needs a new engine - subscribed.

Re: F10D Viability

Did we get an F10D engine? I know we got the G10 but that bolts up to the 1.3 gearbox - that one is definately MPFI but I thought that the earlier model was TBI. Edit: Just Googled that, the Maruti built cars do have the F10D. I never looked that closely at them (other than the ECUs) I know a couple...
