Nope, Mate, kinda relieved on that one. should have realised, when fluid turned black after just a few days. when I checked the old master cyl, the seal was on its way out. Fitting wise, slave cyl no problem, but master linda fiddly to say the least.

At last clutch sorted. Had probs with gear change, difficult to get into gear, at first suspected clutch disc, or even worse gearbox. Did the usual, got some quotes for the clutch replacement. certainly not cheap, so decided to wait until the Christmas break and head down to Yorkshire and let my son...

Luke, had one years back, same colour, 2.4 auto, loved driving it, maintenance no prob, bomb proof. And for a hellova lot of galvanised tin, lots of poke as well. Well worth looking after, hope you enjoy it as much as I did mine.

Similar prob with mine, 2004 gv 2.0 16 valve, First move was replace the slave, slight improvement, don't think its the clutch, no slip on high revs in 1st gear, stalls straight away, master cylinder change next, n see what happens. perhaps changing all flexible pipes when changing the master will h...

Cheers, for reply, heading down to Yorkshire end of month/early September to change clutch. changed clutch slave cylinder, big improvement, got master cylinder on order, may as well go the whole hog. reverse light switch, cheers for advice, dumb question, when do I find the connection ?.....imagine ...

Clutch change could be on cards, have a pretty good service history just over 70k on clock, but no sign of clutch change. Is this a viable diy job.
