Hi there,

Are these paint codes correct, I`ve been to my local paint supplier Peruchet Red (21L) is no longer available so I opted for Flash Red (15P), in 2k. I am currently rebuilding a 1990 Sammy back to the way it was, I haven`t the correct paint code from the bulk head as I built my Blitz on the chassis and have nothing much left of the orignal tub. So I took a flyer and got 2.5 ltrs of flash red I have sprayed the tub internally, engine bulkhead and all the engine bay. Opened the garage this morning after spraying last and was horrified to see the colour reddy orange........................Now I have 2ltrs of paint I`m not happy with as I have never seen a Sammy in this shade if it is orignal.
The original Sammy was Spanish and the original shade of red was nearer a post office red, at the moment I can go back and get another darker tint added, this will mean it is a bespoke colour and if the vehicle was damaged and I don`t have enough paint it would be hard to match but the paint won`t be wasted or at the moment I am opting for a Ford Colarado Red (commercial colour used on Transits) Has anyone any suggestions.

If you bought the paint off the code it will always be a different shade due to the original fading over time, especially with red.

When ever painting older cars regardless of colour it is very hard to get a good match. I'd choose a colour you like and paint it again.

We bought the Sammy new in 1990 it was never this colour!!!! I`m thinking of the Jimny base red busy looking for the code but this time I`m gonna buy 1/2 ltr and try that as I now have 2.1ltrs of paint I don`t like

There's a chance the supplier could have mixed it wrong, I've ordered two lots of exactly the same paint in the same colour from a supplier before and there has been such a difference I had to completely repaint my SJ again.
