Vitara Alarm Problem

Post by Scouse Lee » Sat Apr 01, 2017 8:41 pm

Hi guys, I have a 2002 Grand Vitara 2.6 V6 and last week I tried to open the doors with the fob but it seems that the battery had gone, after putting a new one in it still wouldn't work so I opened the door with the key, the alarm went off and now I can't start the car nor can I turn the alarm off without disconnecting the battery, any ideas?

To the best of my knowledge the Grand Vitara doesn't have an alarm as standard. That being the case can you find what unit has been fitted.

I can't find any instructions for this unit. However, if you desperate, remove it's power supply fuse and I bet its just the starter solenoid wire that's been disconnected to immobilize it. Where they have broken into this wire is a case of searching for the splice.

Hopefully somebody is familiar with these alarms and can advise how to get the fob working again.
