How big is too big?

Post by fozzie52 » Sun Jan 07, 2018 12:35 am

Eyo.

Ive just got some badboy alloys for my Sj413. They are 15" rims. How big a ratio can i go for a set of offroad tyres? I would think 205/70r15's would fit or can i go bigger?

The precise rim size is 7-jjx15-15

Thanks,
Ben

nope it's all stock. I've got some lift shackles which i think add about 2" but i only want to use them if absolutely necessary.

It's never necessary to fit longer shackles. One of the worst things you can do if you have stock length springs.

215/75r15 will fit

235/75r15 will fit with some tweaks to the front bumper and mounts.

They're a cheap alternative to a gym membership... Who needs usable steering anyhow?

Thanks guys.

And in the defence of a stock car i took it out to Salisbury plain a while back (not really expecting much) and it did pretty damn well for a little vehicle - even on road tyres. Although i do have heated seats so does that count as a modded vehicle? probably not...

Mines been up the Plain and it's pretty standard, i've also been out as a group with the main guys on this group, and the only place i needed help was when i wasn't concentrating and bottomed out, and through a water filled trench that was half up the doors. I was still on Road Tyres
