Installing a Toyota 4K carb!

Post by SlimGrim » Fri Apr 28, 2017 7:55 pm

Hey guys, after a recent thread on replacing my carb it was suggested that the Toyota 3k carb could be a good hif44 alternative, it arrived today and I'll probably replace it in the morning, will take pics as to what mods if any I have to do to make it fit, I know the bore steps from 30mm to 28 but that should be ok, might need a tiny bit of file work to make the spacer plate channel line up, cost £115 on eBay next day delivery will keep you guy updated! :weld:

Looks smart, would be handy if you done a step by step guide, Scottie can then pin it to the top so it helps everybody! :doublethumbs: :doublethumbs:

Sorry for going cold turkey, was waiting for the manual choke to turn up from Japan for a while & kinda forgot about the swap, cheers for the guide tramp will really help out, hopefully I should get it done sometime this week if all goes well, will definitely take loads of pics for a full write up :D
In the guide he blends the smaller bore up to meet the samurais larger bore, do you think this is necessary as id like to do as little modification to it as possible apart from the vacuum line channel?
