Overheating

Hows it going?

I've a 1984 sJ 410. I use it as my tractor around my small holding. I had been having various electrical problems etc but got it rewired and earthed etc. I've changed the starter too. It starts first time now.
However when I was getting 'help' with the wiring etc the battery was placed in a say that it connected with the dent in the bonnet. This caused the accelerator cable and clutch cable to go on fire. All delt with and replaced etc.

However now when I'm using it for any length of time it cuts out. I'm wondering if the temp sender also go fried. Would this cause the engine to cut out?
Any other suggestions?
Temp wise and cut outs where fine before this small fire
