Winter MPG

Post by zook123 » Fri Nov 17, 2017 10:39 am

Morning All,

So, this is the first winter that i've got the snorkel fitted on the Jimny, and i've noticed that the MPG has dropped to the low 20's, used to get around 30-35 but recently it's dropped.

I started with half a tank of fuel, done 12miles and it's dropped to 1/3 tank. This is general road driving, max speed of around 55mph.

Changed the spark plugs yesterday which has brought the performance back, but it's still using lots of fuel.

I've noticed that it idles a lot higher on colder mornings - around 1200rpm which I understand does raise, but it doesn't go down?

Has anyone else noticed a massive drop in MPG after fitting a snorkel?

Cheers in advance!
