WHERE IS EVERONE???

The place to socialise, and relax, if it doesn't fit into anything below it fits here, so tell us that joke, or share that story of your last off-road escapade, but remember new comers the virtual drinks are on you!

WHERE IS EVERONE???

Post by djc » Tue Nov 30, 2021 1:48 pm

OK, so I've been absent from here for a year or so, but back now. Seems eerily quiet - did something happen?
Still running my '85 410 on-road all legal and quite shiny. Gets loads of comments and is recognised around here. I think the straight road SJs are becoming seriously rare. Saw a tintop around Tonbridge about 6 months ago.
I guess we've all moved over to EVs??

I spit on electric vehicles lol. The usual suspects are still here, what with winter and all I guess not a lot is been done with the trucks. My LJ is still with me, might do something in the spring!
If it ticks over...leave it

Excellent - just checking! It's been a vital source of knowledge and parts for me. New suspension soon I think, and would love to find some original non-headrest seats.

It’s all pretty quiet. No ones been up to much for a couple of years 🤣

SJ is my winter project. Get it serviced, welded and ready to go for next year.

On servicing and sorting out my new daily at the moment.

I’m using mine now more than ever, I can’t stand not getting the most out of stuff, let’s hope this COVID crap goes away soon and then sjs can then roam free once again !

I post fairly regularly on here but I am now in 'winter mode' and not doing anything on the cars unless something breaks/stops working.
We have been driving our 05 Vitara a lot more than we have in the previous 2 years as she is still only a babe with 45.5k on the clock,so we thought we should get some use out of the old girl 8-) .

Brilliant, good to hear from you all. Had parts from you before Mike (hasn't everyone?).
Just actually washed my SJ yesterday (first time in about 18 months so acceptable) - will post some pics soon. I like to keep it nice n straight but it does work for its living. It's the last IC engine vehicle I will ever own and it is brilliant.

EVs

None of my cars have power steering or ABS - electric propulsion is a long way off for me (I hope...although, as I keep saying, progress does happen so fast these days) The current '92 Samurai is my newest motor at the moment :doublethumbs:

My Suzuki is still in bits in the garage, well several garages. It’s the most complete it has been for a while though
Sid James gone but never forgotten

Hi,

I keep telling myself that I need to get on here a bit more, Life has been crazy busy the last year or 2, ive been doing up a Narrowboat to live in so the Suzukis have been the back burner, I still get up the workshop a bit but not as much as I’d like. That’s starting to change though and I’ve got another new build on that I’m going to reveal soon.

The boat looked like this a year ago

Starting to take shape now though

I also started a new Job restoring classic BMWs a few months ago and it’s great, super busy though!
Zuki Build

Steady as she goes!
