So lockdown came and I had some time. Replaced all the brake pipes and hoses. New fuel lines, handbrake cables, swapped the transfer box for a 410 one I had, made bumpers and loads of other stuff.
Did quite a bit and then went to get it running. Massive dissapointment no oil pressure.
Went to change the oil and on removing the sump plug nothing came out. Even though the dip stick said it was full. Removed the sump and was greated by a very weird sludge. Cleaned it all out, and the oil pickup and put back together. Fresh oil and filter and still no pressure. Think it was gummed up everywhere with this sludge.
So decided to pull the engine out

Managed to find a 1.6 Vitara engine with a weber carb, so dropped that in.

but now swapped to an SU carb and custom manifold.

Pretty much done. Its a been a long journey. Now look at MOT'ing

Bummer about the old engine. Glad to hear it's back up and running hope the mot goes smoothly to.
