SJ416 Samurai Build

Post by Rankine » Thu Feb 05, 2015 5:51 pm

Hey everyone been on the site a little while now.
When i first joined i owned a vitara. That died when my mate crashed into the front of me. Well i broke it for parts then bought a sj413 samurai. Its a soft top thats been converted to a pickup. Estate tailgate welded in. Has a vit lump swapped in and a su carb.
Lift shackles on front and dflex rear with spoa and extended brake lines.

Looks nice, im assuming you're on a HIF44 with an elbow adapter? Hence the bonnet?

:welcome2:

For the sake of your pinion angle and castor, I'd suggest going back to standard shackles - I don't think you need that much lift!

Very nice SJ though. More pics!

Hopefully the tintop im collecting on sunday has standard shackles on it. Its far to high for wot i need. And yes i forgot to say it has the hif44 fitted. Im hoping to get a proper manifold at one point so i can remove the bulge. Will keep use updated as i go along thanks :)

I like that! But yeah, drop her back down a touch, it's too high - she looks like she's trying to do an impression of a giant rollerskate...

had a poke about the 410 its worse than i thought.
very rust in alot of places. so right now all the good parts are going onto the 413 samurai. To get that going then i will restore the 410 body to swap at a later date. It did come with standard shackles in the back of it tho! so got the rear ones swapprd over today from the d flex shackles. so dropped atleast 2" hopefully
