Finally started to get some work done.
First of got it started and running, I did see it running when I picked it up but it's the first time I did it. The tank that came with the truck isn't original and was mounted in the rear, but John who I got it from had removed it to clear the bed and check for rust. My plans mean it will go back there but may change.
All I've done so far is look for rust in and out, have found some but nothing as major as most LJs seem to be.
Anyway enough words, here are some pics URL=http://s1064.photobucket.com/user/Robbi ... h.jpg.html]Image

In the last pic they are rivets, that have been put in from the under side, to hold a plate that was the wrong size. Then they used expanding foam to finish off

Looking forward to this Robbie.

Feel good to back with a proper Zuk?

Going with restorations?

Resto and sympathetic mods?

Or balls out off roader?

Always liked the idea of one as all out off-roader, but now I got one think resto and sympathetic mods.
Would like to go all out and get the body off, but also just want to get it registered and driving. So that is the plan make it road leagal and see what I can do.

The near side (drivers side, left hand drive) floor has been cut out and welded back in. When they done it they also chopped out the sill, badly, and as can be seen in the last pic filled. Up too a 1/4" deep, but it only has a 90 fold so just wobbles about .

Feels like I'm not getting anywhere at the moment, all I do I strip rubber paint. But I have used an idea that I think was Dan2ks. Fire, but not quite as extreme as that, a hot air gun. It's made the job a bit quicker but also a bit hateful. The smell and burnt fingers.
When I got the LJ it came with these URL=http://s1064.photobucket.com/user/Robbi ... .jpeg.html]Image
Which were mounted between the rear arches at some point. The weight has opened the seams on the arches letting rest in, Dosent look too bad but then not had a good look at it from underneath.
And also this is a lie URL=http://s1064.photobucket.com/user/Robbi ... .jpeg.html]Image Stripping black crap ain't no fun
