Brilliant work as always, Scottie.

Can you put up pics of the boat build too, when you get a chance? I think that narrowboats are brilliant, so I'm really interested in your barge build.

Scottie are those mounts made of three seperate bits welded together? Whatever you've done it seems to work!
To keep them all identical I tacked them together during drilling etc. it's 4 plates but they need to be identical, don't want my SJ crabbing down the road  unpainted but finished they look like this.

Little bit more work done.

Plonked the body back on the chassis, it needs to come off again for a few buts but it takes up less space like this
IMG_6955.JPG
Tailshaft adapter pressed into the auto box, still need to fit the seal.
IMG_6797.JPG
Engine mounts fitted, I was lazy and bought some to save time.

IMG_6952.JPG
Waiting for some new crank seals to arrive for the J20 before bolting the auto up and getting it mounted in the SJ.

Also widened the transmission tunnel, the kit I bought came with these panels to be welded in, but I like transmission tunnel access so I made them bolt in, cut the holes out too small for the panels to create a lip, hammer and dollied the lips up to the right angles and added rivnuts. When the body comes back off I'll weld up any slits i had to make and tidy up a few bits.

This just looks better every time. Those engine mounts are rather sturdy!

Thread and build revival time!

Plan is to get Bowser (that’s it’s new name because the No plate ends in BOW) on the road in the next few months, I miss having an SJ as a daily driver.

So the last two days were spent finishing off the axle rebuilds and YJ conversion finished.

Had to make some new Spring plates for the wider spring mounts, I’ll weld some shock mounts on when they come back off for paint. Just needed the LWB built up as a roller for now.

Fitted a new drag and tie rod, Bolted on the 33s off Blue, these are going to stay on the LWB and Blue will get something a little more aggressive.

Had to fit some longer shackles on the front to fix the shackle angle with the RUF conversion (I thought I would have to) but I’ve realised I need to fit some 2” lift rear springs to the front to even the ride height as well. This will also help with sump clearance though as it’s far too close at the moment, I might even have to modify the sump yet but I’m going to try to avoid doing that if I can.

Think he was gonna do it with a My Little Pony theme but Unicorns.

It’s being painted RAF blue grey, the colour the chassis is.

My swb used to be that colour and I always regretted changing it so thought I’d paint this one that colour.

:hahaha: Very funny Jordi

Could get the little rainbow sticker on the rear quarter to match them 😂
