It would look like a step but work like a rock/tree slider. Also if your where stuck in a bog or river it's handy got getting round the truck dry.

These are just like what rankine is describing but they are chassis mounted.....they don't get in the way ;)

Well this thread needs a bit of an update

Starting to look like an SJ again and i've got a buyer lined up for her, I'm pretty much just getting it through an MOT and then the new owner will carry on with the mods and paintwork etc.

The Previous owner did that, it’s an anchorage point for harnesses. I’m just going to leave it for the new owner to decide what to do with it

And then it was roadworthy, put an MOT on it and the buyer was straight over to collect. Even with a bit of a rattly engine  I offered to swap it out but Harrison was keen to get it to his so a spare 1.3 went with it in the back. I think he's just joined so hopefully he'll carry on with the build thread. Looking forwards to seeing what he does with it.

Fitted an ebay Toyota 3k carb to get it running as the stock carb was shot, super simple to fit although it turns out I missed a step and didn't modify the spacer plate, in fact i didn't fit it at all  used the stock sj fuel inlet and modified the throttle cable mount to work, you could easily swap over the actual cable arm onto the carb as well but i just drilled it out on the yota carb so the sj cable fitted. Runs well and pulls very well for a 1.3.
