Coiled turqoise samurai

Post by d_r_1989 » Fri Apr 17, 2020 11:43 pm

So its been ages since i bought this, but its now finally on my ramp and getting some attention.
Andy did a fantastic job of welding the body up, its awaiting some paint when the paint shops reopen.
I have been thinking about this alot though and i think the body being that good deserves a good chassis, it may not be to everyones taste but its something i want to do. Im doing a 3 link front and 4 link rear coil conversion, 1.6 8v, weber carb, power steering, eigher 31s or 33s and both axles moved about an inch each. Iv made a start on the front and will update as i can, hopefully this current climate will help me get it finished.

Anyway a few pics as it is now

Abit more progress on the front end.
Managed to get it back om the wheels and see how it all fits under compression, nothing catches and has plenty of clearance. Just bumpstops and shocks to finish.

With out shocks my up travel will be about 4.5" and droop will be 7.5", so ideally im thinking i need some 12" shocks. Quite alot of travel for an sj 8-)
