New project GV 2002 1.6

Post by captaindemin » Thu Jul 29, 2021 5:24 pm

Hi,

I've just purchased a Grand Vitara 2002 1.6 3 door and planning to turn it into a little beast. It will be used on the road as well as on the road. Can you guys recommend a good lift hight, wheel spacers and tyre size combo. I want to go 3" lift and 50mm spacers with 265/75/16 tyres. What do you think?

Cheers

Mike

Hi Cap'n Mike :welcome:
Demin as in water ??
Sorry cannot help with mods info but just to say that we have great fun with our bog standard 2005 GV1600 cutie (even though it is an Auto for my dodgy knee) - they are great fun little veehicles.

cheers max

Just to add - I hope you have more power than our 1.6 - obviously the slush box doesn't help on ours but larger diameter wheels would almost stop our GV LOL

A rebadged version was sold in North America by General Motors as the Chevrolet Tracker for the first two generations. In Latin America - (excluding Mexico and several other countries), it was marketed as Chevrolet Vitara (first generation 3-door) or Chevrolet Grand Vitara (second generation 5-door). The first generation was also sold with various General Motors' brands in North America such as the Geo Tracker and the Canadian market exclusive Asüna Sunrunner, GMC Tracker and Pontiac Sunrunner.

The last General Motors branded Vitara was the third generation model for Ecuadorian market called Chevrolet Grand Vitara SZ. Even though the car was sold and distributed through Chevrolet, it was marketed with Suzuki badge. The "SZ" suffix was added because the previous generation Chevrolet Grand Vitara was still available in the country until 2016.
