Hopefully its a small enough community that those specialist parts will surface soon enough and people will know you're the original owner

The daily driver was getting SPUA. The grey one is gone.

As for the parts surfacing - it'd be nice, but if I'm honest, I really cannot see any way I could get them back even if they did. The police just don't care. A friend of mine was burgled recently and had video of the guys who did it, and the police just were not interested at all - they didn't even pretend to care. He had a few grand's worth of tools stolen.

Anton mate that is really bad news. And yes they probably have no idea what they have apart from scrap metal worth maybe £60 or so. If they actually did a days WORK in London they would earn that.

Wankers.

The reason that mini had a problem was because the mini has a monoqoque body, and doesn't have a separate chassis like the SJ does so the identity of the car I.e. the VIN is for the body. I've read about the vehicle you are on about and the MOT tester probably got funny about the fact he was supposed to be MOTing a car with two vin numbers and two different identity's.
